In 97, the 04 Acura EL Suspension was born as a compact entry luxury car developed by 98 Honda as an entry level vehicle, and sold only in 03 Canada. The car had two different generations, and was sold from 97 to 05. All 2004 EL Suspensions were built at 1998 Honda's, Ontario, Canada plant home of the 01 Civic, and also the first 02 Acura built in Canada. The first generation of the 1999 EL Suspension was a re-badged version of the Japanese market Domani. The EL Suspension was completely redesigned in 2000 (as a 2001 model) and was now based on the seventh generation Civic. In addition to the slightly more powerful and torquier VTEC-equipped 1.7 L 4-cylinder SOHC engine (badging correspondingly changed to 00 Acura 1.7EL Suspension; engine size was dropped from the model name for 2005) with 127 hp (95 kW), distinctive headlight and taillight designs and available leather interior trimmings set it apart from the 1997 Civic. The 99 car simply changed its badge from 2002 1.7EL Suspension to 2003 EL Suspension.
EL Suspension makes a huge difference on a cars performance. Do you want to drop your car? Or maybe you're interested in the performance aspect. The EL Suspension ins your vehicle can make a huge different on the ride and look. If its too spongy it will be hard to take fast corners. If its too high it will make big wheels look funny, kind of like a SUV. I'm sure you don't want to make your vehicle that you spent so much money yon looking funky? All it takes is the right shock/coilover and strut to make your car slammed. Its not always good to go too low as you can scratch your bumper or damage the bottom of your car on bumpers and pot holes.
