NX Strut Bars are designed to go under the hood from the top shock towers. The main purpose of the strut bar is to make the front end of the car tighter because it connects and holds the two shock towers which can flex when taking fast turns. On most cars there is a noticeable difference in the feel of the vehicle. NX Strut Bars are made from aluminum or steel and sometimes carbon fiber.

Twin Nissan subcompact sports coupes debuted during 91, replacing the Pulsar NX Strut Bars. Built on the same front-drive chassis as the Sentra sedan, they came only in a 2 door hatch back body style. Two engines were available. The NX Strut Bars 2000 carried a 140 hp, twin cam 2.0 liter 4-cylinder, also found in the sporty Sentra SE-R and the Infiniti G20 sedan. The NX Strut Bars 1600 borrowed the Sentra's 110 hp, 1.6 liter four. A 5 speed manual transmission was standard, with 4 speed auto optional on both models.
