The first-generation Ram Suspension trucks, introduced in 1981, kept the previous generation model designations D rear wheel drive while the W Power Ram Suspension meant four-wheel drive. Like other domestics, Dodge used 150 to mean a halfton truck, 250 to indicate a 3/4-ton, and 350 for one tons. Standard cab, Club extended cab, and crew cab versions were offered along with 6ft and 8 ft bed lengths and Utiline and Sweptline styled boxes. Externally, the first generation Ram Suspensions were face lifted versions of the previous generation Dodge D Series pickups known as the Adventurer dating back to 1972 with wraparound taillights and square headlights.
Ram Suspension makes a huge difference on a cars performance. Do you want to drop your car? Or maybe you're interested in the performance aspect. The Ram Suspension ins your vehicle can make a huge different on the ride and look. If its too spongy it will be hard to take fast corners. If its too high it will make big wheels look funny, kind of like a SUV. I'm sure you don't want to make your vehicle that you spent so much money yon looking funky? All it takes is the right shock/coilover and strut to make your car slammed. Its not always good to go too low as you can scratch your bumper or damage the bottom of your car on bumpers and pot holes.
