Redesigned for 1997, Dodge pickup again measured between compact and full size. Power trains and suspensions were essentially carry-overs. Dual airbags were now standard. Regular cab Dakota Bulbs & HIDs came in two sizes: 111.inch wheelbase with a 6.5 foot cargo bed, or 123.9 inch with an 8 foot bed. The Club Cab, which added a 3 place bench seat and 19 inch to the back of the cab, rode a 131 inch wheelbase and came only with the shorter bed.
